About Me

Hi, my name is Josh Langley, welcome to my online design portfolio. On this site you will find the pieces which I consider to be the cream of the crop of my personal work, along with my design blog which features my insights and thoughts on the things that I have found out in the “real world” of graphic design.

I work for Paragon Corvette Reproductions, Inc., as a full-time graphic designer/art director, focussing on advertising, page layout and pre-press production work, with a little photography & web work sprinkled in. I am repsonsible for all pre-press work on the company’s 4 catalogs, along with all of their print advertising and a vast majority of the company’s photography needs, along with being an editor on their blog, and back-end administrator for the company’s website. That’s a nice mouthful isn’t it?

When I’m not on the job, I’m best described as an artsy person, with a slight splash of nerd and a pinch of audiophile thrown in to keep things interesting.

A WORD ABOUT MY BLOG

My blog is my personal space to share my thoughts, opinions and advice on all things design. I’ll try to update it regularly with the many new things I’m learning and coming across on a daily basis.

MY VIEW ON GRAPHIC DESIGN

Graphic design, to me, is more than how I make my living, it’s also my passion, and I try to show it in my work. Every piece I do, whether it’s an ad, or a magazine page layout, has a little bit of me in it. I believe that is the gift of the graphic designer; taking an otherwise blank, utilitarian piece of paper and infusing new life into it, giving it purpose.

I graduated from Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan in June 2007, with honors as an Associate in Applied Science in Graphic Design.

Published Work

I have had numerous published works, starting with overseeing the production of 3 ads which ran in a local independant newspaper, the Uncommon Sense, when I was with Studio 205 in college. In addition, I have extensive experience in pre-press design and production as sole graphic designer for Great Lakes Poker & Gaming Magazine, and the final 3 issues of the above mentioned Uncommon Sense. My current published works, which I have produced for my current employer, Paragon Corvette Reproductions Inc., in the form of monthly ads, can be found in the following nationally published magazines:
